AAA visit to the Museum of Cycladic Art

All this information, and much more, was presented to Alba Alumni Association that visited the Museum of Cycladic Art on the 2nd of April. AAA group participated in a guided tour to the exhibition “Cycladic Society, 5,000 years ago”. This was the very last day of a well-organized and admirably presented exhibition that included 191 artefacts of tremendous importance, collected from different Museums and the Ephorate of Antiquities of Cyclades. Key topics referred to how the Cycladic society was stratified, the role of men and women, the relation between humans and gods, their way of living and expressing themselves through craftsmanship and art, and last, but certainly not least, the enigma of the impressive Cycladic figurines with the abstract and minimalistic depiction of human form.
