On Sunday, February 4, 2018, the AAA participated in a guided tour at the so-called “Queen’s Tower” at Ilion. With the assistance of our highly qualified guides, we realized an extended but very interesting (and not at all tiring) travel back in the 19th century and the era of reign of our country by the Bavarian Otto, King of Greece and Amalia, his wife. We were informed on details having to do with the everyday life and preferences of the (former) queen, plus the general socioeconomic context of the period of the so-called “monarchy by divine right” (doctrine that King’s power was ordained by God).The visit to the Tower included the building itself, a short visit to the vineyard and the winery as well and an unforgettable wine-tasting experience due to the organic products of the estate.
